Do we need this much help?

I was watching a commercial the other day about a car that through (I believe) the key fob one can program the car not to exceed a certain speed, control the volume, even set cell calls to go directly to voicemail. The purpose for this was to put limits on teenage drivers to keep them safe. Does this make sense?

Of course, we don’t want our teenage drivers exceeding the speed limit, playing the radio loudly or on the phone – but how are teens going to learn, if everything is just done for them? Isn’t there something powerful in learning how to put the phone down, on your own accord?! What if a teen driver is pulled over for speeding or phone usage? Maybe a teenage driver needs a ticket? Safety is the priority here, I agree and want our teen drivers safe! I know, I know they are teenagers – they need help and guidance! What kind of help??? What if we TEACH and TRUST our teen drivers to make responsible decisions? See below for more on teen drivers.

We have many great tools available to us today! Websites, apps and virtual assistants can remind us of daily events, tell us the weather even repeat the “to do list”. These options are available to be helpful, make things easier, even simplify. The appeal is real!!!

What if I trust myself more and my devices/apps less? My mind is full and trusting myself to remember it ALL is tricky. Maybe accepting that I will forget, be late or miss out is how it goes???

Parents with kids at home are busy and required to remember a lot; so naturally it makes sense to get help from our smart phones, smart cars, and virtual assistants. Personally, I may not survive without my Amazon Dash buttons!!

Are we so over booked, over scheduled, scatterbrained or simply just not getting it that we need this much help? Is our culture today really this incompetent?

Maybe I am an old fashion kind of gal – who MAY TRY trusting herself more often, however scary that looks! I can be smart too!!

Check out these websites – they are organizations that provide training for teen drivers!!

The training is a little different than traditional driving schools.
